At the centre of this achievement stood Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB) – the host venue of the games’ opening ceremony and the majority of its competitions. Over the course of 12 days, the venue brought together over 5,000 young athletes from 45 nations to celebrate sporting excellence, cultural exchange, and unity.

A Venue Transformed

What made the Bahrain edition of the games unique was not only that it was the first to be held in the Kingdom but also that it was the first time the opening ceremony took place indoors, hosted in Hall 8.

Exhibition World Bahrain transformed its Grand Hall and expansive exhibition spaces into purpose-built arenas, each tailored to the requirements of international-level sports. From combat sports like Judo, Taekwondo, and Wrestling to the fast-rising world of E-sports, the venue became a dynamic hub for 13 different disciplines.

World-Class Dining Experience

From the grand Opening Ceremony to daily event catering, the EWB culinary team managed every aspect of food and beverage service with precision, creativity, and efficiency. The Opening Ceremony alone saw the team serve approximately 6,000 meals for marching athletes and visitors, along with VIP canapes for 500 distinguished guests, reflecting their ability to cater simultaneously to diverse audiences – from dignitaries to athletes.

The culinary team maintained a high level of service throughout the 12-day event, providing daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner for organisers’ staff, coffee breaks for the BAYG Executive Committee’s weekly meetings, and refreshments for volunteers. With more than 3,000 meals served daily – totalling over 39,000 meals over 12 consecutive days – EWB’s F&B operations demonstrated both scale and consistency in quality.
