Bahrain Wins Best MICE Destination Award

London, 10 November 2024: The Kingdom of Bahrain has been awarded the Best MICE Destination by the London Arabia Organisation in recognition of its significant contributions to enhancing business tourism and solidifying Bahrain’s standing as a preferred location for various major regional and international events.

Dana Al Saad, Deputy CEO for Resources and Projects at the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) received the award during the Arab Travel Awards held by the London Arabia Organisation on the sidelines of the World Travel Market 2024 in London.

The event was attended by over 200 personalities from government officials, diplomats, and business leaders worldwide.

Al Saad said “We are pleased to receive this prestigious award from the London Arabia Organisation, which reflects the Kingdom’s continuous and dedicated efforts to position business tourism as a key driver for developing the tourism sector. This aligns with the 2022-2026 Tourism Strategy, which identifies business tourism as a pillar within its seven key areas aimed at increasing tourism’s contribution to the national economy and diversifying the tourism product”.

She added: “We take pride in having the most advanced exhibition and conference centre in the Middle East, located in Sakhir area, which has successfully attracted numerous prestigious major events at both regional and global levels, and continues to draw in new events and initiatives being hosted for the first time in the Kingdom, clearly demonstrating the fruits of many years of strategic planning and relentless efforts exerted by Team Bahrain to establish the Kingdom’s global position in the business tourism sector. With the collective efforts of everyone and the enthusiasm of Bahrain’s youth, the Kingdom is poised to achieve global leadership in the exhibitions and conferences industry, thereby enhancing the performance of the tourism sector as a vital component of the national economy.”

The London Arabia Organisation has launched the inaugural edition of the annual Arab Travel Awards to honour individuals and institutions from various Arab countries who have significantly contributed to the development of the tourism sector through unique strategies and initiatives, and the promotion of diverse Arab cultures on the global tourism stage.
